Joycelyn Strickland-Egans is a retired teacher and instructional coach for Kansas City, Kansas. She taught elementary school for 12,784 days (35 years). She loves going to school everyday as an adventure –no two days are ever alike! She earned her degrees at Emporia State and Kansas State University. She enjoys reading, writing, dancing, laughing , wearing yellow, amateur photography and shopping. She is a mother of 2 children, Justin (Louise) and Jabrea. She has 2 bonus sons Chris and Brandon. She is married to the love of her life, Arthur Byron, who is a master photographer. Her mother (Brenda Bryles) made sure that she learned many bible verses, how to worship and serve the Lord. At St. Peter C.M.E. She has taught Sunday School and served as Superintendent.
